Marvin D. Carlisle was born on October 26, 1936 in Eastland, Texas to the late Joseph and Cora Carlisle. He was raised in West, Texas. Moving to Wills Point in 1972 from Hugo, Oklahoma. He married Mary Helen Evans on August 7, 1959 in Terrell, Texas. They were members of Russell Memorial for over 50 years and attended First Assembly of Wills Point. Over the years Marvin worked for Tri State Stone, McKnight Construction, Tom Norton, 3M Mining and White Rock Drilling where he retired from in 2017 at the age of 81. Marvin enjoyed working, crushing rock and reading his bible. He always carried one in his truck. Spending time with all his grandkids and tending to his cows.

To cherish his memories, Marvin leaves behind his son Dewayne Carlisle and wife Karen; daughter Kimberly White and husband Rod; brothers Melvin Carlisle and wife Jan, and Richard Carlisle; sister Margarette Waldrop; grandchildren, Eddie White, Kristal King, Joe Carlisle and Katie Dodson; great grandchildren Colby White, Baylie Baker, James Whitehead, Gabe Baker, Carlie Jacks, Carson White, Emma Carlisle, Madeliene Carlisle, Kaleb, Jacob and Adalynn Stokes.

Marvin is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Carlisle; parents Joseph and Cora Carlisle; granddaughter Rachel Vann; great grandson Jason Mott; brothers Billy and Robert Lee Carlisle and sister Ouida Walker.

Funeral services for Marvin D. Carlisle, of Wills Point, Texas, were to be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church under the care of Allan Fuller Funeral Home of Wills Point, Texas.
