Born Dec. 25, 1927 in Penn Township, Clearfield County, he was the son of Lloyd and Sadie (Meckley) McCracken.
Mr. McCracken was a truck driver having retired from Kugler Trucking in Ohio.
He was a U.S. Naval Veteran and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He was a lifetime member of the Anderson Creek Sportsman's Club, bowled at the Clearfield Lanes in the International League, was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed both hunting and fishing, enjoyed bee keeping and gardening.
On June 29, 1949 in Mahaffey, he wed the former Harriet Jean Bloom, who preceded him in death on May 27, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elva Russell and Lena Barrett and a brother, Russell McCracken.
Surviving are three daughters: Gloria Wilt and significant other Thomas Sutton of Bradford, Kimberly Peterson and husband Ronald of Curwensville, and Karen Leone and husband Michael of State College.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and a brother, Irvin McCracken of Ohio.
There will be no public visitation.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Denise Derrick, Amanda English, Paula Hamm, and Claudia - and Penn Highlands Community Nurses Hospice.
