Mildred Elaine Moore, 79, of Winfield, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at her home in Winfield. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Winfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Born Jan. 22, 1927, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Ollie R. and Leona B. (Bowen) Ott. She was reared and educated in Cowley County, graduating from the Arkansas City High School in 1944. Mildred continued her education at Cowley College for a brief period. On Dec. 15, 1945, she married Ernest R. Moore in Winfield, and they made their home in rural Winfield. She was a homemaker and secretary for Cowley County Extension Office for 40 years. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winfield, Meals on Wheels and Cowley County Classic, 4-H. Survivors include her son, Alan Moore and his wife, Leslynn, of Winfield; daughters, Barbara Warren and her husband, Raymond, of Winfield, Bonnie Grisham and her husband, Jim, of Wichita; sisters, Marjorie Williams, of Arkansas City, and Carol Rhodes, of Winfield; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest and her parents.
