Kristina M. Aleksa 48, of Mooresville, passed away on February 14, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family after a fierce and courageous battle with breast cancer. Kristina was born on December 18, 1972 in Dunedin, Florida to Pamela G. (Fields) Defeo and Cecil Freeman.

Kristina graduated from Countryside High School in Dunedin, where she was active in the R.O.T.C. She worked in gardening and landscaping for Ray Skillman and was a member of Mt. Gilead Church. Kris was an easy-going person, a peacemaker, a hard worker, who loved her family fiercely. Her children were her passion. She wanted her kids to succeed and thrive and felt education was very important. She loved being outdoors, whether it was boating, camping, riding horses, traveling, especially to New Hampshire and Sturgis and riding Harley’s with her fiancé Eric.

She is survived by her children Heather Aleksa, Michelle Aleksa, Jacob Aleksa, Corey Biron; mother Pamela Defeo; father Cecil Freeman; brother Allen Vanett; fiancé Eric Biron; her beloved puppy Koda, as well as a host of extended family and friends who will miss her very much.
