Edgar Clary "Buddy" Abbott, Jr., 75, of Roebuck, SC, died Monday, February 15, 2021, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, on November 22, 1945; son of the late Edgar Clary Abbott, Sr. (1902–1976) and Elizabeth Louise Edner Abbott (1908–1996).

A retired U.S. Navy veteran serving on submarines and from food services with the Spartanburg County Detention Center.

Loved his wife, sons, grandchildren, family, Carnival cruising, traveling, fishing, Abby his dog, his truck, and his Carolina Gamecock football team.

A 1964 graduate of Spartanburg High School and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Julia Georgette Lewis Abbott; son, Eddie Abbott (Becky); grandsons, Hayden Abbott (Amy) and Talon Abbott; granddaughters, Julia Dare Bullman (Trey) and Katlyn Crocker (Jonny); three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arline Ruth Abbott Trim.

Predeceased by a son, John Thomas "Johnny" Abbott (5 Aug 1969 – 20 Jun 1997).

Visitation will be held from 3:00-3:45 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, Spartanburg, SC.

Funeral services followed at 4:00 pm in the Chapel conducted by Donald Phillips; burial with military honors was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials could be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC.
