Mr. Hall was born on March 2, 1941 in Castalian Springs to the late Lee Hall and Lou Vena Cowan Hall. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen Hall of Castalian Springs; children John Hall of Castalian Springs, Jeff (Jennie) Hall of Castalian Springs and Pam (Brian) Perez of Brentwood; brother William (Miriam) Hall of Gallatin; sisters Betty (Jim) Johnson of Bethpage, Louise Hall of Castalian Springs and Linda Hall of Gallatin; and 7 grandchildren, Jacob (Megan) Hall, Dillon Hall, Kalan (Chris) Banks, Eli Hall, Olivia Hall, Colin Perez and Ella Perez; and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Hall and Charlie Hall, sister Helen Hall Grant and brother-in-law Earl Grant.
Nelson served in the US Army as a paratrooper and spent his career helping build middle Tennessee as a crane operator, including the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge.
