Clarence W. Larson, son of Jeppe and Carrie Larson, was born September 15, 1889 at Avoca, Iowa. He died at his home in Harlan, Iowa on July 27, 1953 at the age of 63 years, ten months and twelve days.
He was united in marriage August 17, 1916 to Lena Johnson. To this union two children were born, Roland of Harlan and Leota (Mrs Robert Garbett), who preceded her father in death on February 14, 1953.
The family lived on their farm southeast of Harlan until eight years ago when they retired and moved to their present home on Baldwin Street.
Mr Larson was a member of the Harlan Methodist church and the local Oddfellow Lodge.
Besides his wife and son, Roland, he is survived by two grandchildren, Dennis Larson of Harlan and Gerald Gargett of Little Rock, Ark: four sisters, Mrs Laura Lee of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mrs Grace Damgaard of Council Bluffs, Mrs Della Sorensen of Harlan; two brothers, Roy Larson of Santa Monica, California and Edwin Larson of Harlan.
Funeral services were held at the Harlan Methodist church with the Rev. E.J. Arnold, pastor of the Congregational church in charge in the absence of the Rev. Lawrence Beals. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery. Pauley's funeral home had charge of the services.
