Marian Booker Martin Lemesh, age 84, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away December 17 at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Sarasota after a brief illness.
Marian, a native of Knoxville, graduated from Central High School in 1949. She dedicated 27 years to the University of Tennessee where she was employed in Finance and Administration and continued as a Vol for Life even after her retirement in 1993. Marian loved to travel, spend time on the beach, read good books, and work difficult crossword puzzles. She was also an accomplished seamstress, an award winning shopper and an excellent cook.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Clayetta Booker Martin and Carl Booker; her only sister, Evelyn Booker Price (William) and her spouse, Alfred E. Martin. She is survived by her husband Roger K. Lemesh of Sarasota; daughters Kathy Martin Haymes (Doug) of Atlanta and Karen Martin Calhoun (Dwayne) of Knoxville; grandchildren Aaron Calhoun of Gainesville, Florida, and Rachael Calhoun of Knoxville; nephew David Price (Luci) of Knoxville; great-niece Hannah Price and great-nephew Connor Price; cousins Melissa Mahan Nichol of Marietta, Georgia, and Patricia Mahan Jones of Jacksonville, Florida. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Fountain City. Please gather at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to proceed to the grave site.
Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to celebrate Marian's life at a reception at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home.
