Juanita Akers, 85, of New London, Ohio died on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at her residence. She was born on August 13, 1935 in Pekin, IN, the daughter of Wilburn and Alta (Hall) Parsons.
Juanita worked at Fannie Farmer for 25 years as a production control manager. She pursued a career in nursing and obtained her LPN licensing from NTC. She worked at Milan Edison Health Care until 1995 when she moved to Kentucky. She worked as the school nurse on Branhams Creek in Harold, Kentucky. She was an active member of the Huron County Senior Center and the Red Hat Society. Juanita had a passion for reading and enjoyed going to church. She was a talented cook and liked to can. She enjoyed shopping.
She is survived by her children; 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren; her siblings and sister in law.
Juanita was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Hamilton in 1993, second husband, Donald Akers in 2007; daughter, Daphne Dawn Hamilton; son, Albert Hamilton Jr., 2 grandsons, 2 great grandchildren and brother, Wilburn Parsons Jr.
A public graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Grove Street Cemetery in New London, Ohio with Luke Givens officiating. Guest are asked to wear a mask and practice all social distancing guidelines.
