Bernice Elizabeth (Tucker) Bulmer, 81, Lawrence, formerly of Ottawa, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Pioneer Ridge Health Center, Lawrence.

She was born Feb. 9, 1926, at Michigan Valley to Frank and Opal Maxine (Walker) Tucker.

She grew up in Michigan Valley. She also lived at Ottawa and moved to Lawrence in 1986.

She graduated from Michigan Valley High School.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her flower garden and her many friends and neighbors.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Ottawa. She volunteered for many church activities and many citizen organizations.

She worked as a cosmetologist and a homemaker.

She married Drexel Hawley Bulmer Dec. 17, 1976, at Ottawa. He preceded her in death March 9, 1994.

Survivors include brothers, Charles Lewis Tucker, and his wife, Esther, Lawrence, and Ronald Bruce Tucker, and his wife, Caroll, Lawrence; stepsons, Lee M. Bulmer, and his wife, Peggy, Vassar, Larry D. Bulmer, and his wife, Lois, Ottawa, and D. Russell Bulmer, and his wife, Carol, Ottawa; stepdaughters, Deanna Faust, and her husband, Don, Overbrook, Barbara A. Brown, Atlanta, Ga., Sharon Middlebusher, and her husband, Loren, Ottawa, and Karen Witham, and her husband, Howard, Ottawa; and many stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, stepgreat-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin Tucker.
