Obituary - Mildred Dean Calderwood McKay, born September 7, 1902 in Chicago, Illinois to Emily Dean and William Robert Calderwood, died in Salt Lake City on December 25, 1994 from causes incident to age. She was the widow of David Lawrence McKay.

She graduated from LDS High School and the University of Utah, and taught both Jr. High and High School in Salt Lake City and Washington, D.C. She worked for the Republican National Committee in Washington and was president of both the Salt Lake Women's Republican Club and the Utah Federation of Women's Republican Clubs.She also served as Area Supervisor of the American Cancer Fund Drive and Co-Chair of the Women's Fund Raising Committee for the University of Utah Medical Center. She was a volunteer Information Officer at the Metropolitan Hall of Justice and a member of the Women's State Legislative Council.

Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was a member of the General Primary Board for 12 years; she was on the editorial board of "The Children's Friend", the Board of Trustees of the Primary Children's Hospital and a member of the Church's Curriculum Writing Committee. In the early 1970's she served in New York City with her husband as he presided over the Eastern States Mission.

She is survived by her four daughters: Midene (Mrs. Howard B. Anderson), Los Angeles, California; Teddy Lyn (Mrs. Richard T. Parmley), Cupertino, California; Catherine (Mrs. Gerald B. Iba), Santa Monica, California; and Joyce (Mrs. Robert F. Bennett), Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29, 1994, at 12:00 Noon, in the Salt Lake Stake Center, 142 West 200 North. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 PM at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Thursday 10:45-11:45 AM at the stake center. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to the Primary Children's Medical Center or the Utah Symphony.
