Virgil Lynn Domino was born August 31, 1922 in Nemaha, Sae County, Iowa; one of four children born to the farm family of Floyd Marvin Domino and Carrie Mae (Brown) Domino. Virgil attended a country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Rembrandt High School. Barn dances were one of his favorite pastimes as a young man. He married Mildred Marie Atherley on a blind date! They married in Boise, Idaho on August 1, 1945. They shared 73 years of marriage before her passing and were blessed with four children, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
One of the joys of Virgil's life was flying multi-engine planes – and he did a lot of that while employed with Air America. He served as an Air Force Instructor Pilot for 21 years. He was honored with a plaque for service to the CIA. He enjoyed golf and bowling and volunteered at the American Legion in Broken Arrow.
Virgil Lynn Domino was inducted into the CENTENARIANS OF OKLAHOMA HALL OF FAME on the occasion of his 100th birthday celebration. At that time he shared these words of wisdom: "IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING –DO IT!" Virgil's centenarian file will be sent to the Oklahoma Historical Society to become a permanent part of Oklahoma History
