David W. Butcher, 68, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born October 13, 1952 in York, a son of the late Charles H. and Madelene L. (Stein) Butcher, he had worked at Penn-Mar Sheltered Workshop. David has been a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Red Lion and was currently attending St. Peter’s Church in Seven Valleys.

Mr. Butcher is survived by a brother, C. Morgan and wife Judith Butcher of York; a sister, Ann E. and husband Charles Heisler of Red Lion; his care provider, Beth Hyser of Seven Valleys; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Horace E. Gibson.

A viewing for close friends and family will be held from 3:30-4:00 PM Sunday, February 28, 2021 at St. Peter’s Church, 1708 Seitzville Rd., Seven Valleys with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 PM with Pastor Thomas Beck officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 1, 2021 at Freysville Union Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
