Darris Martin Anderson, 84, of Charleston, died Thursday in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, after a long illness. He was a retired mechanic from the Otis Elevator Service with 45 years of service. He attended Shepherds Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving: wife, Vera; sons, Bobby of Hurricane, Bruce M. of Savannah, Ga.; daughter, E. Sue Anderson at home; brother, Denny of Charleston; half brothers, Oren and Otmer, both of Kenna; half sister, Mrs. Pearl Walker of Ripley; step sister, Mrs. Tressie Slater of Nitro; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Service was Saturday in Cunningham Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Warren Anderson and the Rev. J. W. Holtsclaw officiating. Burial was in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. * Born Jul. 7, 1897
