Daughter of William Milton Spalding and Sarah Jane Harding. She was the second born of their 5 children. Her generation began the practice of spelling the last name as "Spaulding", adding the letter "u".

She married Benjamin Albert Ring on 26 Mar 1863 in Windham, Maine. They had 10 children:

. Kate Abigail Ring (1864 - 1938)
+ sp: Cyrus Reuben Hazelton
. Mabel Ring (1866 - 1866)
. Wesley Eugene Ring (1867 - 1939)
+ sp: Lillie Swan
+ sp: Mattie Evelyn Thompson
. Cyrus Francis Ring (1870 - 1953)
+ sp: Florence Sarah Bliss
. Edward Milton Ring (1872 - 1961)

+ sp: Linnie Agnes Morgan
. Iva Florence Ring (1883 - 1969)
+ sp: Arthur Ward Packard
. James William Ring (1886 - 1974)
+ sp: Ruth Elaine Farrington

She and her husband lived first near Casco, Maine, but before 1870 they moved to Greenwood, Maine, where most of their children were born. She was a midwife and self-trained nurse. After the death of her husband in 1913, Ann moved to Portland, Maine where she lived with friends until her death, of erysipelas, in 1918.
