Richard “Dick” L. Goodman, age 85, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life with family by his side on Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2021 at his daughter Jennifer’s residence in the township of Cato.

Dick was born on February 11, 1936 in Gladstone, MI. He was the son of the late Clarence and Doris Danielson Goodman. Dick was a graduate of Gladstone High School with the class of 1954. He then continued his education at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. Dick then entered the Unites States Marine Corps serving his country for the next four years. After receiving an honorable discharge Dick became an over the road truck driver for multiple trucking companies for many years and then he became a dispatcher for Richter Vinegar from where he retired. On November 29, 1958 he married Flora Arvey in Perkins, MI. She preceded him in death on August 18, 1983. Dick was a member of the Manitowoc Eagles Aeries Club #706. He enjoyed playing cards, chess, cribbage, and following sports of all types but especially basketball.

He is survived by five children, Gale Fricke, Manitowoc, Jayson (Kelly Ahrens) Goodman, Manitowoc, Lisa (Charles) Brehm, AZ, Kristen (Brian) Steffens, AZ, and Jennifer (Herman “Junior”) Sprang, Reedsville; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, one sister, Nancy Goss, Fort Worth, TX; two nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Doris Goodman; wife, Flora; three grandchildren, Leon Sobush IV, Jacob Walters, and Kristeena Marie Carr; and one sister, Jane Fitzgerald.

A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Burial of the cremated remains will be on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
