Our beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend, Julie, died of natural causes on Tuesday March 2, 2021.

Born 31 July 1929 in Salt Lake City to Carleton Caine Alder and Rebecca Kathryn Moyle. She attended East High and the University of Utah, where she graduated in Art and Education. She served an LDS mission to Guatemala and El Salvador. On 9 April 1958, she married her sweetheart, Robert Pierce Anderson, in the Salt Lake Temple.

She served in the Salt Lake Temple and enjoyed numerous church callings. She had the opportunity to serve on the Relief Society General Board, which she enjoyed immensely. She and Bob completed missions together to Monterrey, Mexico and Frankfurt, Germany.

Julie served the Lord flawlessly and leaves a legacy of love for all those who knew her. She enjoyed painting; singing with her sextet group and with the Jay Welch Chorale; playing her baritone ukulele; tending to her plums, apricots, raspberries, and grapes; working with students who were learning English; traveling, making homemade jam; and baking and sharing her whole wheat bread. She spoke Spanish and German. She thoroughly enjoyed visiting with people from all over the world. Her favorite places in the world were growing up in Cottonwood and Brighton. She had a generous and kind spirit until the day she died. She was gentle and caring of others.

Survived by: sisters-in-law, Mary Anderson, Irene Alder, and Linda Alder; children, Kathy (Ray Banks), Ben (Carly), Mark (Jennifer), Susan (Charles Ayers), Kathleen (Peter Stein), and Thelma; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Monument Park Ward Building, 1005 South 2000 East, which will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
A private family interment will be with her beloved "mentor" Bob at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
