Geraldine (Gerry) L. DiMasi
March 11, 1929 - March 01, 2021,

Geraldine “Gerry” L. DiMasi died on March 1, 2021. She was born on March 11, 1929 in New Haven, Connecticut to Dr. Thomas H. and Lella V. (Parke) Gaetz. In 1950, she married her former high school classmate, John R. “Jack” Fallon. Gerry fondly remembered spending those beginning years in Boston, graduating from Simmons College and working to support Jack while he completed his delayed education at Boston College after serving in the Army. During one of those jobs, as a teacher, she took on the added role of coaching girls basketball. Without even knowing the game, she led her teams to a winning record. With that same “can do” spirit she tackled motherhood and the challenges of being widowed at age 50 in 1979. Surviving are her children: John T. “Jack” Fallon (Maryruth) of Kalispell, MT; Jane L. Coen (James) of Fenton, MO; James M. “Jim” Fallon (Sandi) of Algonquin, IL; Jeffrey E. “Jeff” Fallon (Laverne) of Strongsville, OH; Joan F. “Joanie” Pandjiris (James) of Wildwood, MO and Joseph P. “Joe” Fallon (Darlene) of Ellisville, MO. She loved traveling, playing bridge, knitting and, most of all, watching her grandchildren get together. It was with one of her bridge groups that she met her second husband, Nicholas J. “Nick” DiMasi. They were married in 1984. Her vacations were no longer just loading up her husband and six children into a cramped station wagon for a trip to Port Colborne, Ontario and Cape Cod, MA. Travels with Nick took her to even more beautiful places throughout North America and Europe before his passing in 2008. In addition to her husbands, Gerry was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Ygerne Baker, a brother and sister of very young age and Harold Gaetz. Surviving are her six children, two step-children, 30 grandchildren, a growing number of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, Sandy Gaetz of Upper Nyack, NY and her most delightful friend, Norma Murphy of Brentwood, MO.

Services: A private graveside service will take place on March 11, 2021 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
