Ron was a graduate of Welch High School. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University, earning his Masters Degree in Computer Science. On June 28, 1969, he married the love of his life, the former Beverly Parker, in a ceremony at the Welch Christian Church.
He worked in Information Technology for 15 years with Halliburton. He then worked for 18 years in the same field as a consultant for Computer Sciences Corporation, in Dallas, TX and later out of Denver, CO. After his retirement, he and Beverly made their home in Grove. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, target shooting, and playing his guitar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his father in law, C.L. “Stu” Parker.
Those mourning his loss are his wife, Beverly, of the home; two children, Jason Kays and wife Shelley of Oklahoma City, and Jennifer Ratcliff and husband Jay of Springdale, Arkansas; two siblings, Kenny Kays of Vinita, and Michele Drummond of Oologah; four grandchildren, Parker and Abbey Kays, and Kade and Kenzie Ratcliff; his mother in law, Betty Parker of Grove; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A private, family only, graveside service will be held at the Welch Cemetery. Minister Jesse Burns will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Welch Public Schools Enrichment Foundation c/o Welch State Bank P.O. Box 129 Welch, OK 74369, or to the American Heart Association c/o Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home P.O. Box 231 Welch, OK 74369.
