Paula Lesser, 84, of Chappell Hill, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Brenham. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Brenham Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Pastor Mike Smith will officiate.

Lillian Pauline Adair was born on December 9, 1936, in Houston, Texas, to the late Clarence and Mary Adair. She attended Houston schools and was a 1954 graduate of Spring Branch High School. She then attended the University of Texas in Austin and the University of Houston.

On March 12, 1960, she married Phil Lesser, of Chappell Hill, in the Second Presbyterian Church of Houston. After six years in Houston, they made their home in Chappell Hill. In 1972, Paula became a part-time postal clerk at the Chappell Hill Post Office. She then went on to become Postmaster in 1984, retiring in 1996. She also helped sell sausage and cheese, alongside her husband, Phil, at P. Lesser and Son General Store during the annual festivals. Paula was a member of Country Bible Church, rarely missing a service or Bible class. She was a member of the Chappell Hill Canasta Club for many years. She enjoyed visiting with people, reading, and traveling with family. She and Phil particularly enjoyed attending the country music concerts at the Columbus Opry.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Dee Adair; husband, Phil Lesser; son, Craig Lesser; and brothers-in-law, Cecil Farrington and Richard Ullrich.

Surviving loving family includes her daughters, Cindy Gregor and her husband, Brady, and Mary Kay Beard and her husband, Jim; grandchildren: Jenna Gregor, Karra Pineda, Lauriano Pineda, Russell Beard, Bill Beard, and James Beard; sisters: Betty Jo Farrington, Connie Ullrich, and Kay Ullrich and her husband, Albert; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
