William Cosby Hodges, Jr. , Age 81, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2021.

He was born January 28, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late William Cosby Hodges (1914 - 1996) and Jane Gregory Hodges (1917-1997).

Cosby lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas, with his wife for 45 years where he served on the boards of the Good Samaritan Clinic, Children's Emergency Shelter, & Hardscrabble Country Club.

He attended Sewanee Military Academy in Sewanee, Tennessee and graduated from Ramsay High School in 1959 in Birmingham, Alabama. Cosby attended Auburn University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

He served in the Alabama Air National Guard, and spent a year in France in the early 1960's when his unit was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. Cosby lived in Fort Smith, AR with his wife for 45 years where he served on the boards of the Good Samaritan Clinic, Children's Emergency Shelter, & Hardscrabble Country Club.

Cosby was the owner of Hodges Promotions and ACC Management in Fort Smith, AR, where he worked in sales and real estate. He moved part of his businesses to Fort Worth, TX in 2015, where he sold his companies in 2019 but continued his real estate interests. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, & community volunteer.

Cosby was endeared to many people of all ages, especially an Alabama football fan (Roll Tide!), and was very personable, humorous, & great in a crisis. His benevolent and altruistic nature made him very well-known and widely loved.

Patricia Daniel Hodges of Fort Worth, TX, his wife of 49 years survives; his three daughters: Arden H. Serrato of Placitas, NM, Denise H. Hamilton, and Jane H. Askins (Justin) of Fort Worth, TX; eight grandchildren: Mauricio, Gabriela, Javier, and Ariana Serrato of Placitas, NM; Tori Stewart, Seguin, TX and Cole Stewart, John Cosby & Ellery Askins of Fort Worth; two great grandsons, Krew Stewart, & Avian Serrato, his sister, Jane Hodges Johnson, of Birmingham, his nieces, nephews, & cousins.

At noon Wednesday, March 10, a Memorial Mass for Cosby will be at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1206 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth, 76102. Cremains will be placed in the Columbarium at Christ the King Church in Fort Smith, AR. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
