Longtime Delta View farmer Everett Conrad Stuhaan passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, Dec. 1, 2006. He was 85 years young.

Everett was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1921, in Glendale, Calif. He attended Delta View School, Hanford High and COS. He began his college career at Davis but was called away to join the Navy. Everett served in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war he moved back to the wonderful community of Delta View. He was married to the late Berneice Ellen Feaver and the two of them continued to live and farm for many years.

Everett was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday school, served as a deacon and sang in the choir for over 50 years. His love and understanding of music was profound. Many evenings he could be found attending concerts around Kings and Tulare Counties.

Everett dedicated many hours to the YMCA Y's Men's Club where he was a member. He was presented the Educators of the Year Award in 1972 for service to public education in Kings County. He also served on various school boards.

As a farmer and dairyman he supported the 4-H and FFA programs, county and statewide. He was an avid sports fan and history buff.

He was known for his loving kindness and he hugged everyone he met.

Everett is survived by his loving daughter Sandra Kerr and her husband Ernest; two granddaughters, Tamara Sanchez and husband Tim and Rhonda Gates and husband Geoff; five great-grandchildren, Dustin, Cannon, Brayden, Stetson and Jagger; his sister, Margaret Hoin and husband Ed; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
