Floyd B. House, age 83, of Abbeville, AL passed away on August 26, 2019 at his home. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. Graveside services will follow at Parkhill Cemetery at 1:00 pm.

Floyd was born on March 13, 1936 in West Blocton, AL the son of Carver House and Jennie Medders House. Floyd was a long distance truck driver most of his life and never met a stranger. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, attending church, and was a strong supporter of Auburn, especially the football team. What he loved was spending time with his wife and family.

His parents, his brother, Charles House, and a sister, Lucille Colburn, precede Floyd in death.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Chalkley House; four daughters, Kathy (John) House Adams, Diane House Grier, Teresa (Kenny) Bush, Doris Calhoun and three sons, Floyd Anthony (Linda) House, Junior House Freeman, and Jeff (Petra) Simons. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and his seven sisters, Katie Hubbard, Lizzie Hembree, Linda Jones, Reba Johnston, Roberta Lawrence, Mary House, Lois Cooley; two brothers, J.C. House, R.F. House and many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
