My Aunt Carrie was the youngest child and only daughter of my grandparents Lawrence and Juanita (Kuykendall) Snoots. She graduated from Woodlawn (MD) High School in 1982 and married Barry Browning that same year. They later divorced, but had three children, Barry, Krystin and William. They survive her, as do a grandson, aged 11, and granddaughter, aged 4. Also her brother Barry (Nancy), half-brother Larry (Kathy), nieces Jennifer Pidgeon and Jessica Hernandez and nephew David Snoots.

She worked as a certified Medical Assistant.

I was born just before her 11th birthday. I remember when she still lived at home with my grandparents. She had the front bedroom. Unbeknownst to her, when I was 2 and hanging out with her in her room, she was playing music and I heard "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton - I didn't know what it was, but remembered the riff. That was the moment I was hooked on rock n roll, so thanks Aunt Carrie! I remember she really liked Aerosmith and Guns n Roses.

I stayed at her house during the summer of 94. Me and my cousins watched lots of Mtv and she always gave me money to order us pizza when she was at work. She had a massive dog named Bear at the time. Like always, I probably drove her nuts with my tidying up since she was always a bit messy even living at home. But that's ok, as a working single mom of three kids she probably didn't mind!

For awhile Aunt Carrie lived on Cecil Ave. outside Baltimore in the house that used to belong to her grandmother Gladys "Gang" Allen. She inherited Gang's dog Ginger, who was originally my dog when I was very little. She took good care of Ginger for the rest of Ginger's long life. She then moved into the house next to my grandparents on Baker Avenue. I know she and the kids were a big help to my granddad during the 5 years he was a widower. After my granddad died she lived in their house for awhile. Eventually she moved to Sharpsburg and then on to West Virginia.

She loved her kids and I bet she really loved being a grandmother. Those kids were robbed no doubt.

I thought she was great - close to my age and very cool. She, and everyone who knew her, were terribly ripped off by this when she should have enjoyed 20 or 30 more years.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had neither seen or talked to her in quite a few years. Her and my cousins are always thought of. Feel free to get in touch you guys, I'd love to hear from you!

She died way way way too young of pancreatic cancer.
