Robert W. Yanda, age 92 of Tisch Mills, died peacefully Sunday morning, March 14, 2021 in the loving care of Silver Leaf Assisted Living, Kewaunee.
Robert was born on November 23, 1928 in the house of their Homestead farm in Zander, WI to Ernest and Lillian (Zipperer) Yanda. On October 22, 1949, Robert was united in marriage with Lucille M. Koenig at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Robert proudly worked on their Homestead dairy farm for 43 years. During this time, they had two children: Scott Yanda and Pastoral minister, Christal (Yanda) Wavrunek. Robert and Lucy also raised chickens and pigs, selling eggs to the local stores. Robert and Lucy were avid dancers and enjoyed being a part of the Happy Hoppers and the Czech's of Norman. They also enjoyed spending time at their cottage with their family and friends. Lucy preceded Bob in death on June 15, 2017.
Robert had a passion for fishing on Lake Michigan and would smoke fish for the neighborhood and for many parties. If anyone is in Tisch Mills, you will see his wood crafts all over town, from benches for the store and church, to remodeling at Fat Boyz, and all sorts of birds, dogs and so on all over town. He loved playing cards, traveling, spending time with family, and absolutely loved to joke around, even to his last days.
Survivors include his two children: Scott Yanda and Christal Wavrunek; four grandchildren: Christopher (Jean) Wavrunek, Samuel (Scott) Wavrunek, Zachary (Beth) Wavrunek, and Jessica (Thomas) Lambert; eight great-grandchildren: Seth, Aaron, Zoey, Ivy, Blake, Alexis, Remington, and Gracyn. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Gloria Yanda, Mildred Shreotski, Betty Koenig, and Yvonne Everson; along with many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lillian Yanda; his wife, Lucille; his mother and father-in-law, Blanche and Leo Koenig; two brothers: John Yanda and Calvin Yanda; sister-in-law, Audrey Yanda; brothers-in-law, Carl Shreotski and Leo Koenig Jr.; and his son-in-law, Deacon Robert Wavrunek.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 19, 2021 at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. on Friday at the church.
