Richard Stephenson "Rick" Brown III, 71 years 9 months and 6 days of age, of Muncie, Indiana, departed this life on Thursday morning, March 18th, 2021 at his residence following a battle with cancer and alzheimer's.
Richard was born in Muncie, Indiana on Sunday, July 12th, 1949, son of the late Richard Stephenson Brown II and Pearl Helen Harty Brown. Richard graduated from South Side High School in 1967. Richard had worked for Borg-Warner as a machine operator for approximately twelve years before his retirement. He was also an ordained Minister. Richard had pastored the Heavenly Hope Church for several years and also filled in at the Ashgrove Church. To say he enjoyed fishing is an understatement! Richard treasured the times he could spend with his children and grandchildren the most!
Richard was survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Brinda Stevens Brown, whom he married in Muncie, Indiana on February 14th, 1970; one son, Daniel (and Tasha) Brown of Hartford City, Indiana; three grandchildren, Brittany (and Avery) Thornburgh, Rebekah Brown, and Daniel Brown II, all of Hartford City, Indiana; two brothers, Kenny (and Wendy) Brown and Michael Brown, both of Muncie, Indiana; one sister, Patty Ann Brown of Muncie, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Stephenson Brown II, who departed this life on March 22nd, 1982 and Pearl Helen Brown, who departed this life on September 26th, 2002; one son, Richard Stephen "Rick" Brown IV, who departed this life on November 21st, 2012; and one sister, Shirley "Judy" Raines.
Visitations were held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 at the Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center in Muncie, Indiana.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 in the Chapel of the Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center with Pastor William Harty officiating.
Burial followed in the Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie, Indiana.
