Maureen was born on October 10, 1942 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Grimmer McCarty. Maureen attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1961. She continued her education at Silver Lake College receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1972. Maureen was employed at Mirro Aluminum followed by employment at Home Care Health Services and Hospice as a companion. Maureen enjoyed taking trips with her family and traveling from Wisconsin to Florida. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She is survived by 2 nephews and one niece, Quinn (Diane) McCarthy, International Falls, Minnesota, Timm (Beth) McCarthy, West Bend, Debi (Jon) Pratt, Manitowoc; great nieces and nephew, Rachel Pratt, Jason Pratt, and Mackenzie McCarthy; sister-in-law, Claudia McCarthy, Sussex; along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen McCarty; two brothers, Pat McCarthy and Mike McCarty; one sister, Kathleen McCarty; and one sister-in-law, Barbara McCarty.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain with burial to follow at Forest View Cemetery in Two Rivers. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. Following the funeral service at the church a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
