Ruth Isabel (Miles) Huber, age 90, passed into eternal life on October 25, 2014 in Wenatchee. Born in Newark, NJ, Ruth graduated from Western Maryland College with a degree in sociology. Along with her husband of 59 years, Milton, she valued community service, civil rights, and environmental preservation. She enjoyed dancing, reading, nature and summers at the family cottage in Michigan. In her 80’s, as a new resident and widow, she became known fondly for her friendliness on her daily walks around Chelan, and for support of the Lake Chelan Methodist Church, Chelan Valley Hope, PEO, and the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust. She thrived on the love of her family.

She is survived by her daughter s, Jacqueline (Larry) Long of Minneapolis and Jill (Steve) Milner of Chelan; and sons, Mark (Laurie Haig) of Whitefish Bay, and Miles (Mariko Gutierrez) of Ladera Ranch, CA. Further survived by sister, Helen (Bob) Dubel of Glen Arm, MD; as well as grandchildren, Stephanie (Peter) Barnes, John (Joanna Perez) Milner, Jacob Long, Lura Long, Alana (Tony) Byron, Kelly Huber, Megan Huber and Miya Huber; and several great-grandchildren.

She will be interred following a family Memorial Service at the Michigan cottage. Memorials to the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, 18 N. Wenatchee Avenue, are suggested.
