Harry E. Arnold, 59 Oneida, Dies
ONEIDA – Harry E. Arnold, 59, of 112 E. Sands St., died yesterday at Veteran's Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a patient for four weeks.
He was assistant Madison County Veteran's Service officer with offices in Wampsville.
Born in Fish Creek, May 14, 1897, he was the son of the late Frederick and Carrie Arnold.
He was a veteran of World War I and past commander of the American Legion Post 54, Munnsville. Mr. Arnold served as county treasurer of the Legion for 10 years. A member of Lodge 421, Loyal Order of Moose, he attended the Oneida Baptist Church. He was also first Chef-de-Gar of Madison County 40 et 8 and national alternate Cheminot of 40 et 8.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marion Parkinson; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Diable, Munnsville, PSNA Betty Lou Arnold, Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, Robert, Durhamville, S-Sgt, Harry E. Arnold Jr., Moses Lake, Wash., a sister, Mrs. Maude Griffin, Munnsville; a stepsister, Mrs. Isabel Cox, Canastota; a stepbrother, Alfred Arnold, Utica; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
