George C. Flemings, 80, of Hanley Road, Nassau died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Kingston, the son of the late George L. and Dorothy Hobbs Flemings.

He had lived in Nassau for 57 years. Mr. Flemings was retired from New York Telephone Company where he worked for many years in sales. He was a former Nassau Town Highway Commissioner and Nassau Village Police Commissioner. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Love Lutheran Church in East Greenbush. George loved his Thursday wine nights with his family.

Mr. Flemings is survived by his wife, Betty Saehloff Flemings; three daughters, Sandra, Gail and Debra, all of Nassau; and three grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Wednesday morning at 11:45 at the Nassau Cemetery.
