Richard was well known in his community and got along with everyone. He was very social and enjoyed talking with his neighbors. He liked to kick back and relax, and even play some computer games.
He is predeceased by his wife, Irene (Morgan) Vastag, 2017; and sister, Mary Ann (Vastag) Sanford, 2019. Surviving are: his children, Richard Vastag, Jr., Susan (James Evans) Vastag; grandchildren, Jonathan Ramsden and Alexis Vastag; half sisters, Nancy Weltin, Pat Buckalew, Patricia Snyder and a half brother Richard "Dickey" Vastag all of Ohio; aunt, Shirley Frazier; and nephews, Michael Vastag and Ross Sanford.
