Born in Greenville County, the son of the late Smith Griffin and Louise Lively Hendricks, Mr. Hendricks was former Vice-President of Piedmont Plush Mills and owner of K & M Fabrics.
Mr. Hendricks graduated from Huguenot High School in Richmond, VA and Furman University, where he belonged to Pi Kappa Phi, later serving as First Lieutenant U S Army. Smith served Pickens County in many areas, such as pickens County Elections Commissioner and Planning Commissioner.
Surviving are one son, two daughters and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted on Saturday at Arial-Hendricks Family Cemetery.
