Mrs. Morris passed away March 8, 2021 at the age of 90 at her home in Goodlettsville. She was born in Cannon County (December 17, 1930), but grew up in Nashville. Mrs. Morris graduated from Cumberland High School (1949) and soon after began working at Sears where she would meet her future husband Nathan. They were married in 1955. Later she and Nathan owned and operated Home Appliance Sales and Service in Springfield, TN. Marie also worked at NAPCO and the Davidson County Election Commission. She was a longtime member of Bethel Church of Christ. Marie is preceded in death by her parents Lillard and Josie Cope West, husband Nathan Morris, sisters Wanda Faye West and Mable West Archey, and brothers Ralph West and L.F. West. Survivors include her daughters Gaye (James) Watts, Kellye (Donnie) McCool, grandchildren Raleigh McCool, Jordan (Roxanne) McCool, and Taraleigh (Lincoln) Stemler, and great-grandson Nate McCool; sister Anne (John) Browning of Texas, brother G.P. (Marguerite) West of Murfreesboro, special cousin Peggy Reed, and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Lynn Horne for her dedicated assistance to Marie these last eighteen months. Visitation with the family will be at Bethel Church of Christ (7815 Whites Creek Pike Joelton, TN 37080) Friday March 12 from 4-7pm. Funeral services, scheduled for Saturday March 13 at 10:30, will also be at Bethel with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Masks preferred.
