Mrs. Christina Byard, aged 85 years, died in her home in Earnshaw January 22, 1942, a daugter of George & Rebecca Stoneking Byard. She was born in Wetzel Count on June 13, 1856. She was a member of the Earnshaw Methodist Church. Her husband George, died several years ago. Surviving are six sons and daughters; Mrs. Jennie Snider and Mrs. Mary Wilson of Wichita, KS, Mrs. Dessie Ensminger of Harrington, Kansas, Mrs. Bertie Kearns of Kilgore, Texas, Mrs Rosa Meerel of Morgantown, Mrs. Carrie Ice of Glovers Gap and two step-children, Mrs. Susan Templeton of Smithfield and Luther Byard of Coburn. Services were conducted at the Earnshaw Methodist Church by Rev. Harry Rush and interment was made in the Yost Cemetery near Earnshaw.

Tennie married Joe Reed. They had four children Carrie Reed (Ice) Rosy Reed (Merrell), Bell and Milo Reed (Byard) Milo was known as Milo Byard. Tennie and Joe divorce and she married George Byard. She and George were cousins. They had seven children Jennie, Henry, Birdie Florence, Mary Frances, Sarah Ellen, Dessie Pearl, and Lee
