He was employed with Nashville's Pure Milk Company when he was married on December 18, 1932 in Franklin, Kentucky to Louise Greene, the daughter of R M Greene.

Later a salesman for Hester Battery Company and living at 2115 Pontotoc Avenue in Nashville, Luskey was 52 years old and married when he had a heart attack and died at home on May 4, 1962.

Survivors included his wife and his son David M Bursey, who was attending college in Atlanta, Georgia.

Much of the above is from his Death Certificate, with Louise Greene Bursey as the informant. Additional info is from his published obituary in Nashville Banner on May 5, 1962.
