William H. "Bill" Antonion, passed peacefully on March 24th at the age of 92 surrounded by loved ones. Bill was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and pioneer in the insurance industry as an agency manager with State Farm. He was known for his love and devotion to his family, as both a teacher and coach, and his optimism, integrity, and sense of life was boundless. Retiring in 1995 afforded Bill time to pursue his other life passions including his efforts in journalism as a sportswriter for nearly five years at the local Star Newspaper covering high school and local college sports; a 20-year career as public address announcer for men's and women's basketball games at Moraine Valley C.C. and Governors State University; and coaching his three grandsons in little league baseball. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy of 67 years; his four children, Laura, Cindy, and Tony Antonion and Lynne (Michael) Smith; his sister Mary Morrow; and grandsons, Stephen, Adam, and Mark Glagola. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed and will always be our hero. Visitation at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, Homewood, IL, until the time of services. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
