H.W. Jennings Dies
Horton Wilson Jennings, 76, of 2572 Cedar Springs Drive, a retired principal of Una Elementary School, died yesterday in Donelson Hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home. The Revs. Damon Corley and al Henson will officiate. Burial will be in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
Jennings was a graduate of Lebanon High School and attended Cumberland University and Peabody College. He taught for many years in the Davidson County school system and was principal at Una when he retired.
He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sammie Griggs Jennings; five daughters, Mrs. Billie J. Vaughan, Mrs. Betty J. Lee, Mrs. Sue J. Rafalowski, Mrs. Carolyn J. Green, all of Nashville, and Mrs. Charlotte J. Corbin, Covina, Calif.; a son, Neal L. Jennings; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Jennings, Mrs. Louise Jones and Ms. Sandra Vanhook all of Lebanon; six brothers, Erby, Paul Ray and Wiley Jennings all of Lebanon, Lyndon B. Conway and Harry Jennings, all of Tullahoma; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
