A devout Muslim, she retired from the Woods School in Langhorne, Pennsylvania after 25 years of service.
She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Harris-O'Neal and brothers Henry "Dixie" Harris and James Harris, Jr.
She leaves to mourn her son, William Howard and daughter-in-law, Louise Harris-Howard, two sisters, Cora Lee and Bertha Harris of Cleveland, Ohio. nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
