Maxie Adkins
March 06, 1935 - March 29, 2021

Maxie Adkins, age 86, of Shelbiana, KY, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born on March 6, 1935, the daughter of the late Willie and Roma Rowe Prater. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Adkins, by a brother, Johnnhy Webb Prater and by three sisters, Melster Newsome, Ruth Skinner and Myrtle Marie Prater.

Maxie was a housekeeper for Pikeville Medical Center and a member of the Greasy Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Suzy) Adkins and Cecil Ray (Rhonda) Adkins, by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Milford (Glenda) Prater, Miles (Justine) Prater, and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 after 6 pm at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 pm at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker, Harvella Adkins, Timmy Adkins, Barry Lucas and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
