Kenneth J. Waack, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, passed away on Sunday evening, March 28, 2021 at Aurora BayCare of Green Bay.

Kenny was born on February 1, 1932 in Manitowoc, son of the late Alfred and Lily (Waack) Waack. On August 5, 1961 he married the former Peggy Bauknecht at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Kenny started his driving career in 1950 working for Lakeland Egg Coop in Valders picking up eggs from farmers and hauling into Milwaukee and Chicago. In 1953, he started at Lakeshore Transfer hauling concrete products and lumber out of Upper Michigan. In 1956, he started at George Clark Transit hauling cement and dispatching for 30 years. In 1986 he started Maritime Bay Transit hauling silica sand to foundries in Manitowoc. Kenny turned the business over to his son Joe in 1989.

After he passed on the business to his son, he began driving school bus for Brandt Busses. His main transport was for Lincoln High School girls' sports. Kenny spent 5 summers managing the Alibi Dock at Fish Creek after he retired from driving. He was also a life member of the Manitowoc Yacht Club and was a member of Viking Bow and Gun club. Kenny enjoyed fishing and hunting in Michigan with his sons. He was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc.

Survivors include his loving wife: Peggy Waack; their five children: Jeffrey (Holly) Waack, Joseph (Kari) Waack, Julie Waack, John (Julie) Waack, Jim (Rena) Waack; ten grandchildren: Terrin and Brianna Waack, Kellen Waack, Zachary (Jenny) Tavs, Arik (Kelsey) Tavs, Amanda Waack and Eric Smith, Megan, Alexis and Joshua Waack; one great grandson: Everett Tavs; one brother: Pastor Ralph (Carole) Waack; three sisters-in-laws and three brothers-in-law: Sister Diane Bauknecht, Bill Bauknecht, Don Bauknecht, Mary (Paul) Levene and Eunice Waack. He was also preceded in death by one sister: Ethel (Harold) Gustafson; one brother: Merlin Waack; and one sister-in-law: Judy Bauknecht.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Ave, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Jason Blahnik. Entombment of cremated remains will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth, at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
