Alice Mae Batterman, 90, lifelong Guymon resident and well-known artist passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

The daughter of Guy A. and Anna Mae (Bledsoe) Watkins, Alice was born December 26, 1930 in Guymon, Oklahoma. She attended Guymon schools, graduating with the Class of 1948.

Alice was united in marriage to Melvin "Slim" Batterman on August 20, 1949 in Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1996. Alice had been active in Blue Birds, Girl Scouts and Topps Club. Alice was a homemaker and owned/operated Alice's Art Studio for 45 years. She also enjoyed baking cakes and cookies.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Margaret Whitfield and Peggy Tharan and one granddaughter, Danielle Batterman.

She is survived by one son, Danny Batterman and wife, Rhonda of Borger, Texas; one daughter, Vicki Piccirillo and husband, Frank of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Allison Elmer and husband, Jason and Anthony Piccirillo and wife, Lindsey; one great grandson, Eli Elmer; one sister, Kay Graham of Guymon; two brothers: Dick Watkins and wife, Alice and Jerry Watkins and wife, Lou all of Guymon; along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Alice's family would like to express a deep appreciation to her nephew and niece, Guy and Juli Watkins , her housekeeper/friend, Norma and her healthcare nurse, Tristan.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, April 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Alice can be made to the Guymon Public Library and Arts Center or to the Girl Scouts.
