The former Theresa Koneczka, was born in Manitowoc on June 21, 1928 to the late Joseph and Agnes (Migacz) Koneczka. She attended St. Mary's Parochial School and was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1946. On September 10, 1949 Theresa married Henry J. Cisler at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1992. Theresa was very active in Girl Scouts of the Manitou Council of Manitowoc. She was a Girl Scout leader of Troop 159 for 12 years, taking the girls on many eventful trips. She was the day camp coordinator for the Manitou Girl Scout Council for 21 years, she was very involved in the council folk fairs and special events. She received awards including the "Thanks Badge" and was a lifetime member.
Theresa was a member of the Rosary Society of the former St. Mary's Church and secretary of the St. Therese Society of the former St. Andrew Church. Theresa was presently a member of the St. Claire Society of St. Francis of Assisi Church. In the past she was a den leader for the Boy Scouts, she belonged to the Woodland Dunes Nature Center, Manitowoc Senior Center, was a lifetime member of the Manitowoc County Historical Society and loved volunteering at the Pinecrest Historical Village gift shop. She enjoyed knitting, donating 100s of hats and scarves to many organizations. Theresa loved traveling, gardening, playing cards and bingo. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her long time special friend Donna.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law: Gary (Laura) Cisler, Mineral Point; one daughter and son-in-law: Jacqueline (Anthony) Burkart, Wauwatosa; six grandchildren: Jacob (Jeanne) Burkart, Calli Burkart (Joe Rohde), Stuart Burkart, Andrew (Amy) Post, Anna Cisler, Kevin Cisler; three great grandchildren: Miles Post, Penelope Post, Oscar Post; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Agnes Koneczka; husband: Henry Cisler; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Louise (Kurt) Schmidt, Johanna (Clem) Sprang, Marie (Paul) Balko; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Sylvester (Leona) Koneczka, Joseph (Alice) Koneczka.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. The Rev. Ben Johnson will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum.
