Born Oct. 30, 1915 in Dexter, Ma., he was the son of the late Albert W. and Isabell Paulin White Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a captain in the US Army stationed in the Philippines during WW II. From 1951-1979 he worked as a civilian in the personnel office at Robbins Air Force Base in Warner Robbins, Ga. Mr. Jackson was a lifelong member of the Perry Country Club and served as a Little League coach in Perry for five years. He was a member of Alcoholic Anonymous for 25 years and also a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church.
Mr. Jackson married Dally Jones of Pineville, Ga. on August 14, 1943. The couple had one son, Robert Albert Jackson. Dally preceded Mr. Jackson in death in October 1972. He married Hazel Hathaway of Perry on Nov. 1973. Hazel preceded him in death in October 1999.
Survivors include his son, Robert A. Jackson, Big Canoe, Ga.; grandsons, Andrew Scott Jackson, Meridian, Ms., and Matthew Robert Jackson, Fayetteville, N.C.; great-grandson, Andrew Scott Jackson, Jr., Meridian; sister, Ruth Ziehler, Feeding Hill, Ma.; and brother, Donald Jackson, Brocton, Ma.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 from the Perry Memorial Gardens in Perry, with Father Frank Richardson officiating. The family requests donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
