Obituary of Albert D. Griffin

Albert Dale Griffin, 95 of Princeton, West Virginia passed away April 7, 2021 at Pine Lodge Nursing Home. He was born September 29, 1925, a son of the late Major Andrew Griffin and Hattie Mae Wildman. Albert was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. He was a WWII US paratrooper that proudly served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a life member of DAV #32 in Murphytown, life member of VFW, and life member of Purple Heart recipient. He worked as a self-employed carpenter. He is survived by his son, David Griffin of Parkersburg; daughters, Marjorie (Roy L.) Conner of Mineral Wells, WV, Barbara Jane (Jim) Spencer of Parkersburg, WV; stepchildren, Kay (Clayton) Griffin, William (Terri) Little, Landon (Sue) Little, Richard S. Little; daughter in law, Kathy Griffin of Mineral Wells, WV; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; six step grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eula Sheppard; second wife, Alice Maxine Buzzard; son, Roger Dale Griffin; brother, Charles Griffin; four sisters, Ruth Blair, Beulah Moncrief, Francis Bailey, and Pauline Griffin. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday April 12, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Steve States officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. An online guestbook for condolences is available at www.sunsetparkersburg.com.
