Debby Abbott (Dohaney)

Age 69 of Halifax. It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah Ann Abbott announces the passing of their beloved cousin in Halifax on April 2, 2021. Born in 1951 in Moncton, N.B., Debby was the only child of the late Avis (Linton) and Vincent Dohaney.

Debby attended Harrison Trimble High School, Atlantic Baptist College and then received her Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University in 1983. Debby grew up loving and listening to music. She was a huge Beatles fan! Debby cherished her visits with family, especially her summer trips to Prince Edward Island and Plaster Rock, N.B. Debby was a long-time dog lover, getting her first dog when she was ten. She was especially close to her service dogs, Dorian and Gia. Debby made many friends over the years and will be fondly remembered for her compassionate and caring ways, her positive attitude, and sincere interest in others.

She will be missed! Debby is survived by a wide circle of cousins and friends too numerous to name. In lieu of flowers please make donations to one of Debby's favourite charities, Canada Dog Guides or Canadian Mental Health Association Halifax-Dartmouth. A special thank you to all of Debby's friends, and DogGuides Canada for their support.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. A private committal service will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery
