Gwendolyn Richmond Cooper was born at Abraham, WV on May 12, 1950 to the late Ted Richmond and Geraldine Plumley Richmond.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 28 years, Ken Cooper, who went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2016. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Douglas Arthur of Cool Ridge, Dwayne Arthur of Prince, and Kenny Cooper and wife Amanda of Beckley.
She leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren whom she adored. She was very proud to be called "mamaw" by Krista Meadows of Daniels, Dakota Arthur of Daniels, and their precious sister, Emma Grace Sears of Beckley. Other survivors include her sisters, Quadena (Melvin) Evans of Beckley, Gaye (Elmer) Plumley of Abraham, Sue (Blake) Farley of Princeton, Jeanetta Tincher of Ocala, Florida. Also nieces and nephews are surviving.
Gwen was a receptionist for Dr. Harold E. Harvey's office for 23 years. She enjoyed her work and loved the office staff as her family. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Southern West Virginia for many years. She loved encouraging others. Gwen will be missed by all who knew her.
She was saved on April 5, 1979. Gwen loved the Lord and sharing the gospel with others. She was a faithful member of Beckley Regular Baptist Church.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
