Olive Katherine Thurman Wong was the eldest daughter of Dr. Howard Thurman by his 1st wife, Katie Kelley Thurman. Sue Bailey Thurman was her stepmother and Anne Spencer Thurman Chiarenza.
She was a librarian, theater director, writer, costume and fashion designer. She worked as a curator for a Performance Costume Design Collection at the New York Public Library for 11 years from 1999-2010, sought to share her experience with costume design with the library patrons.
She is survived by her children Emily and Anton and her grandchildren Philip, Isa and Ian. A Memorial Service was be held on May 18th, 2012 at 2:00pm at The Interchurch Center Chapel, 475 Riverside Drive, New York City.
