Jean was born on August 4, 1932 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Felix and Josephine (Napiecinski) Ziarnik. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1950. On October 7, 1950 she married William Wilke at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2009. Jean worked as a receptionist at the Manitowoc Clinic. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona every March, casino trips and bowling. Jean was an avid sports fan and loved all Wisconsin sports. She also enjoyed the outdoors, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children: Cynthia (Dennis) Boeckman, Manitowoc, Nancy (Timothy) Prisland, Sheboygan, David (Julie) Wilke, Manitowoc, Susan (Rick) Vogt, Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren: Brian (Jenny) Boeckman, Heidi (Marc) Wadzinski, Carey (Josh) LeRoy, Craig (Emily) Prisland, Andrew (Miranda) Prisland, Matthew (Ashley) Wilke, Tyler Wilke, Jeremy Vogt, Cory Vogt, Tracey (Matt) Randerson; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law: Hazel Ziarnik, Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: William; her parents: Felix and Josephine Ziarnik; one grandson: Michael Vogt; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Edwin Ziarnik, Leroy (Laverne) Ziarnik; and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Russell (Dorothy) Wilke.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshal, (1114 S. 21st Street) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Doug LeCaptain with burial of Jean's cremated remains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, April 16, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Due to the current pandemic, masks are required to attend and please social distance when possible.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
