ARTHUR D. ALLEN
Arthur Dale Allen, 66, of Clayton died at 8:40 pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born Feb 5, 1941 in Beardstown, he was a son of Arthur Melvin and Geneva Smith Allen. He married Betty Smith on Dec 27, 1960 in Beardstown. She survives.
He attended school in Beardstown and was a truck spotter for Dot Foods in Mt. Sterling. He enjoyed time with his family, going fishing, looking for mushrooms, scratching lottery tickets and spending time with his with Betty at the gambling boat.
Survivors include his wife Betty Allen of Clayton; a son, Brian Allen of Pikeville, KY; four daughters, Wanda Robertson of Quincy, Beth Clinging and her husband Jeff of Quincy, Laura Lieurance and her husband Bobe of Payson, and Jeris Grim and her husband Ryan of Quincy; six grandsons, Nathan Allen, Jordan Robertson, Collin Clinging, Jacob Allen, Lucas Lieurance and Kaden Grim; four granddaughters, Sara Metz, Lindsay Clinging, Hannah Allen and Lexi Grim; three great granddoughters, Sami Allen, Madi Metz and Ella Allen; one brother, Harold Reichart and his wife Susan of Clayton; one sister, Linda Heuerman and her husband Dan of Toledo; and many close family and friends. His parents, stepparents, three sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 am, Saturday May 19, 2007 at the Versailles West Side Cemetery with the Rev Jerry Harris officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton was in charge of the arrangements. [Democrat-Message, May 23, 2007]
