He was born February 16, 1942 in Ste. Genevieve, MO son of Xavier Charles. and Margaret Catherine (Abt) Pfaff. He and Vernelle Olsen were married on February 4, 1967. She preceded him in death on October 6, 1999. He and Judy D. Wahlers were married on November 7, 1990. She survives in Perryville, MO.
Al was a retired mine truck driver for Mississippi Lime Co. in Ste. Genevieve, MO. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post #133, Elks Lodge #2701 and a US National Guard veteran of Vietnam.
Survivors include four sons, Vernon (Tammie) Pfaff, Chuck (Kim) Pfaff, Scott Pfaff and Kenny (Angie) Pfaff all of Perryville; two step-sons, Brian (Susan) Wahlers of Jackson, Michael (Emily) Wahlers of Sedgewickville; four brothers and two sisters, Francis Pfaff and Joe Pfaff both of Perryville, Theresa (Floyd) Roth and John (Ann) Pfaff all of Ste. Genevieve, Larry (Carol) Pfaff of Festus and Agnes (Melvin) Schneier of Perryville; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, one granddaughter, Danielle Pfaff and one brother, Anthony Pfaff.
